今天9月27日是一年一度的世界旅游日。这是由世界旅游组织(WTO)确定的旅游工作者和旅游者的节日。创立该节日的目的在于给旅游宣传提供一个机会，引起人们对旅游的重视，促进各国在旅游领域的合作。

　　今年的主题是“旅游――连接不同文化的纽带”，强调旅游在促进国际了解和相互尊重方面的重要作用。2011年世界旅游日世界主会场设在马来西亚，中国主会场设在山东曲阜，庆祝活动在孔子文化节期间进行。

　　1979年9月27日世界旅游组织第三次代表大会决定9月27日为世界旅游日。一是为了纪念1970年9月27日通过将成立世界旅游组织的章程，二是因为这段时间都是旅游的最佳时间。此外，这一天又恰好是北半球的旅游高峰刚过去，南半球的旅游旺季刚到来的相互交接时间。

　　世界旅游组织都会为每年的世界旅游日提出一个宣传口号，以便突出旅游宣传的重点。基于此，我们不妨来回顾下历年世界旅游日的主题口号——

　　1980年：旅游业的贡献：文化遗产的保护与不同文化之间的相互理解。
